St. Stephen’s, the Episcopal Church serving North Whidbey and surrounding communities, will hold it annual Advent Taize service on Wednesday Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. This is a quiet, meditative, nondenominational service that takes time to reflect on the coming of Christ into the world.
The lay-led service, which lasts about 45 minutes, will include prayers, hymns, chants and readings from Scripture, poetry and personal reflections. “At this busy time of year, when it is so easy to be distracted and caught up in the holiday season, this Advent Taize service gives us a brief, quiet time to consider the amazing miracle of God among us, taking our human form,” said the Rev. Peter H. Rood, rector of St. Stephen’s.
All are welcome at this service, which takes place in the St. Stephen’s sanctuary at 555 SE Regatta Drive in Oak Harbor.
